Charitable unincorporated association

signpost

You can be constituted as a charitable unincorporated association. This is a form of charity, so you will be able to apply for grants that are only available to charities.

All you need to do to start with is draw up and agree a constitution to help your group run smoothly. The constitution must include aims (or objects), which must be exclusively charitable.

If and when the annual income of your organisation exceeds £5,000, you will need to register with the Charity Commission. You will then have to submit information to the Charity Commission every year.

All Resource Centre information is available for free because we know small community groups have small budgets. However, we are a small charity, so if you are in a position to make a donation, it will help us to keep running this service into the future.
