Queen’s Park Ward ‘Communities First’ has over £50,000 to use in the community by 2016.

Community First Funding DEADLINE 5th December

St.Peters and North Laines Community First grant funding is open for applications from groups providing projects and services to meet local needs and priorities within this Ward.  Funds of up to £2,500 per project are available from groups and organisations able to provide match funds in cash or kind (volunteer time can be counted).  General Details of Community First funding can be found at:

Good Food Grant information sessions

Good Food Grants is a small grants programme run by the Food Partnership that supports projects in communities in Brighton & Hove working on issues like growing, cooking, healthy eating, reducing waste and increasing access to good food. The maximum grant size is £800.

This evening is designed for those that are interested in applying for a Good Food Grant but want to find out a bit more. The first-half of the evening will be covering the grants priorities and the second half will give you an opportunity to speak one-to-one with an advisor about your own project. Sport England funding for specialist equipment for sports for disabled people

Sport England have £1million to spend on grants for specialist equipment to help organisations deliver sports activities for disabled people.

Not-for-profit organisations can apply for between £300 and £10,000 of Lottery funding to purchase sports equipment that will help increase the number of disabled young people (aged 14+) and adults regularly playing sport.

The deadline for applications is 2nd December 2013.

Good Food Grants now open for applications

Brighton & Hove Food Partnership’s Good Food Grants programme is open for another year. The deadline for applications is Friday 7th February.

Community groups and schools in Brighton and Hove can apply for one-off grants of up to £800 for projects that aim to improve the health, skills and confidence of local residents though healthy eating, increased cookery skills and food growing.

Mental health promotion small grant

The public health team within Brighton & Hove City Council has identified funding for small grants of up to £1500 (one-off, not recurrent) for mental health promotion projects.

Priority will be given to projects that promote positive mental health, enable emotional resilience, challenge stigma, address inequalities and make use of the Five Ways to Wellbeing message (connect, be active, take notice, keep learning, give).

Applications need to be submitted by November 25 and notification of awards will go out before December 20th 2013.
