Money in Mind project update

As the Money in Mind project enters its fifth and final year, small groups in Brighton & Hove continue to benefit from free advice on managing money. Since the project began in 2009, over 300 small groups have been helped to keep their finances in order and their groups running smoothly.

Between October and December, 100% of the groups who used the project rated the support they received as excellent.

See the January 2014 update for all the latest facts and figures.

Room for hire: Circus Street – free for community groups & not-for-profits

The room is free to hire to charities and non-profit groups. Depending on length of hire, they may need to make a small charge for electricity/heating, and a key deposit may be required.

The room is available from 8am-8pm on an hourly/short-term basis for activities such as youth clubs, meetings, workshops, rehearsals etc for a maximum of 30 people.

They may be able to accommodate other times/uses/numbers on request, and we also use the main section of the market for bigger events, so please let me know if this is of interest.

Facilities: there are several tables, chairs and benches, to seat up to c.20 people.

There is a ‘Portaloo’ style disabled WC and a kitchen with basic equipment for making hot drinks etc. The room and WC are both wheelchair accessible but unfortunately the kitchen is not.

Please be aware that the ‘room’ is a temporary marquee-type structure within the market, and as such is not centrally heated or insulated. They have some small fan heaters available, but if the weather is very cold the room may be unsuitable for use, depending on your type of activity.
