The WEA have spaces available on their course: Award in Understanding Community Interpreting Level 1
This qualification offers the opportunity for students who are speakers of other languages to learn about the role of the community interpreter. You will learn about the language skills required when working in the community – giving an awareness of how language changes depending on the situation. There is also an opportunity to look at how public and voluntary service sectors work in the community.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?

- Students need a Level 1 qualification in English to join this course
- You should be a confident speaker of English and be fluent in at least one other language
