Clubs in Crisis Sports Fund
Grants available for: Not for profit sports clubs and groups
Size of grants given: Up to £2,021
Next deadline: Opens by 16th April 2021, no deadlines
Aims of Fund
To help sports clubs and organisations to save, resume or adapt their activities after being negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Who can apply
Groups which intentionally use sport to deliver wider social outcomes for young people. They are looking to fund groups that work in disadvantaged communities, and maybe in collaboration with local partners. Groups must be able to demonstrate they are using sport to work towards one or more of the following outcomes:
- Developing life skills
- Improving mental health
- Reducing crime and anti-social behaviour
- Developing employability skills
- Building stronger communities
Groups must be not-for-profit, have a constitution, operate in the UK, and have an annual turnover of up to £75,000. The group must also be able to demonsrate it has been negatively impacted, either financially or operationally, by the Covid-19 pandemic.
See the fund’s FAQs for further details on eligibility.
How much and what can you apply for
A one off grant of up to £2,021.
The money can be spent on operational costs or capital costs. If your group needs to repay debts specifically to save or resume your activities, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, you can apply to use the funds for debt repayment or for costs incurred before the funding is awarded.
These are not strict requirements, but the funders are also interested in the money being used:
- As match funding to help leverage other income for your group; and
- To ensure the sustainability of your group.
How to apply
The fund is administered by local community foundations. If you are in Sussex, you will be able to apply on the Sussex Community Foundation website.
If you are elsewhere in the UK, use the funder’s website to find your local community foundation.
Deadlines for application
Fund opens by 16th April 2021. There are no specific deadlines but you’re encouraged to apply as soon as you can, because they expect high demand and only have a limited amount of funding to award.
